GridNEXT 2019 Speaker

James McGuire serves as the Director of Environmental Quality & Sustainability at the City of Dallas. In that role, Mr. McGuire brings significant experience in regulatory compliance, enforcement, permitting, emergency response, resilience/sustainability planning, and environmental law. Prior to his current position, he had over a decade of practice as on environmental attorney and as general counsel for Dallas Water Utilities. He obtained an M.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin’s Jackson School of Geosciences and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law.  Like other professionals in his Office of Environmental Quality & Sustainability, he is proud to be leading the City of Dallas in the effort to create the region’s first comprehensive environmental and climate action plan.
